Learning Chess

chess Mr Maguire is setting up a chess tournament. We are learning how to play chess. All of us can play.  Qwam are Tyler have done lots of practice and we think we are the best. Mr. Maguire will give us some homework passes if we ever beat him. We record our checkmates on a chart. We, Qwam and Tyler, are drawing. We learned about what each piece is worth. A queen is worth 9 points and a pawn is worth 1. Hopefully we will have the tournament soon, we will have to keep practicing before it starts though.   Qwam and Tyler

Science week experiments in 6th

                                         DRY ICE! Last week was science week, Mr Maguire’s class done an experiment with dry ice. Dry ice is some carbon dioxide frozen that you can order online. We were not allowed touch it because you could get frost bite in less than five seconds. We used fairy liquid, gloves, balloons, bottles, cup, water, kettle, plate and pipes. On my summer holidays I went to the zoo with my dad.  When I got back I found out that my step- brother broke his foot. I had a party for my step- brother. 5th Class Are Getting Healthy!

On January 21st Ms Nestor’s class went cooking. We made granola and brown bread which are both very healthy treats. It was really enjoyable and we had a brilliant time. We went to the kitchen in two groups and we brought four of Mr Diver’s pupils with us. We are all trying to be more healthy these days as we are following Operation Transformation. We have promised to eat at least one piece of fruit each day in school and we write these on our fruit tracker. Basketball Blitz

Derek, Cian,  Tony, Killian, Jamie, Linda, Shauna, Rachael, Anastasia and Naomi  were the lucky few of the Basketball team to get to go to this prestigious tournament. Schools from all over Tallaght came to this tournament.
