Science Week 2019

We had a great week celebrating Science Week with lots of activities taking place during the week. Patrick Hunt from Heritage in schools came in and worked with children in 5th class. The children learned all about the importance of trees. The theme of this year’s Science Week was climate action and climate change. Children from all grades were busy working on science experiments and learning about some very famous scientists. Poster Competition – “Every ...

Heartiest congratulations to all our pupils who took part in the “Every School Day Counts” Poster Competition here in the school last month. Teachers have commented very positively on the discussions and conversations that they observed and heard while pupils were engaged in designing their posters. It is no surprise therefore, to say that the standard of the posters designed and entered by pupils was extremely high. Every School Day Counts

Tulsa are launching a rebranding of their initiatives around Attendance, Retention and Participation in education with the introduction of TESS (Tusla Education Support Service) which incorporates the Home School Community Liaison Scheme, The School Completion Programme and the Statutory Educational Welfare Service. 5th Class Trip to Santry

On Wednesday the 14th of November the whole of 5th class went to Santry in North Dublin. We left Tallaght at 9;30 and arrived around 10 past 10. On the bus I sat beside Makenzie behind us was Ryan and Lucy and in front of us was Kian and Katy. We all were so excited to go to Santry and run our last mile. Engineers Week 2019

Engineers Week has been in full swing at the Sacred Heart Senior School. All classes have been busy designing and building different engineering projects. Children in both 5th and 6th classes have taken part in engineering workshops at the Tallaght stadium. These activities were part of South Dublin County Council’s programme for Engineers week. At school the children have been very busy making ‘Wigglebots’ , ‘Paper bridges’ and ‘Spaghetti and Marshmallow Towers’ .
