Reading for Fun

Reading for Fun

Reading for fun has been up and running for the past 5 weeks in both 3rd and 4th class. The 3rd class children have been reading Roddy Doyle’s book ‘The Giggler Treatment’ and in 4th class the children have been reading ‘The Meanwhile Adventures’. FIDI goes to Finland

FIDI goes to Finland

FIDI is our project mascot. He gets his name from the four countries involved: Finland, Ireland, Denmark and Italy. In February 2013, FIDI had an opportunity to visit Finland, along with some of the teachers.  In the pictures you can see FIDI taking part in class with the pupils in Koskelan Koulu, in the city of Oulu. Also you will see FIDI watching a skiing lesson and an ice skating lesson in P.E., and trying his paw at husky sledding. He was very interested to see that the pupils in Oulu don’t wear a school uniform, and that they take off their shoes in school and...

Gospel Choir 2012

Gospel Choir 2012

Following the departure of Mr. Codd we are delighted that the school’s gospel choir continues thanks to the work of Ms. Brolan. Over the last few weeks our Gospel Choir has been busy preparing for Christmas. We are very excited to be performing in Killinarden Church on Christmas Eve. Our choir has been invited to sing during the children’s Mass at 5pm on December 24th. We have been working hard like Santa’s little elves to have our songs perfected and our Christmas robes ready to wear in time for the big day. Looking forward to seeing you all there.!
