Trip to Tallaght Library

Trip to Tallaght Library

Last Wednesday 14/11/18, we went to Tallaght library. We walked from Sacred Heart to the library. First, we took a seat and met two ladies who would show us around. After we looked at some picture books and we talked about library cards. We got a tour of the library and we learned that the last name of the author is where the book has to go. There were sections from A-Z. For example a book by David Walliams would go in the ‘W’ section. The ladies showed us all of the different types of books that you can get. We found some books that we can use...

Making Potions for Halloween

Making Potions for Halloween

Happy Halloween from Ms. Greene’s third class Today we were busy making potions in third class. It was kind of messy as you can see from the pictures below but we had a lot of fun!  Here is how you can make the lava lamp potion. You will need: clear cups, water, vegetable oil, Alka Seltzer and food colouring. Pour the water into the cup. Pour the vegetable oil into the cup. The water and oil will separate. Add in some drops of food colouring into the cup. The drops will pass through the oil and mix with the water. Break an alka seltzer tablet in half and drop...

Autumn in third class

Autumn in third class

We are learning all about autumn at the moment in third class. Here is a recount that we wrote in Ms. Greene’s class about our recent autumn walk! Next, we walked out to the field and school gardens and we looked around for some autumn signs. We saw lots of different coloured leaves, some berries, conkers, conker husks, acorns, pine cones and some seeds. Then we collected some leaves so that...

Trick Or Treat for Temple Street!

On the 27th of October Sacred Heart raised €360 for Temple Street, children’s hospital. It was a scary day in here! We dressed up as witches, ghouls and more. It was an amazing day. The children got to bring in some treats and in the afternoon our teachers let us play party games and watch a movie. It was a great start to our Mid Term break and also a very important cause. Thank you to everybody who supported us and brought in their €2. We look forward to supporting their annual campaign again next year:)
