Every School Day Counts – 20 Day Challenge

Our school took part in the TESS (Tusla Educational Support Service) Every School Day Counts – 20 Day Challenge during the month of November 2019. You will recall we had  a very successful Poster Competition in October to raise awareness of the importance of attending school every day which had a positive impact on school attendance during November. During assembly this week, 105 pupils were presented with certificates of Full Participation in the Every School Day Counts – 20 Day Challenge and tickets for a small raffle draw whereby 25% of the pupils won a small prize.

Class Number of Pupils Attendance Percentage for the Month of November 2019
Third 24 91.2%
Fourth 21 88.2%
Fifth 35 94.2%
Sixth 25 92.0%
Total 105 91.5%

We thank parents for their continued support with promoting attendance at home and ask that you continue this good work so that we can maintain the improvement we did last year during the month of December where we increased attendance during December by 2 percentage points over previous years.  In the first three days this month the statistics are looking good, so we encourage all to keep up their efforts.
