Engineers Week 2019

Engineers Week has been in full swing at the Sacred Heart Senior School. All classes have been busy designing and building different engineering projects. Children in both 5th and 6th classes have taken part in engineering workshops at the Tallaght stadium. These activities were part of South Dublin County Council’s programme for Engineers week. At school the children have been very busy making ‘Wigglebots’ , ‘Paper bridges’ and ‘Spaghetti and Marshmallow Towers’ . We also started our ‘Buddy Engineering’ which involved children from 5th class talking about their engineering projects to other grade levels. Children from 6th and 4th class created some amazing bridges in their buddy engineering sessions. 3rd classes created some very impressive spaghetti structures too. The children will now ‘buddy’ up with other grade levels to work on more engineering projects. Also 6th class created some ‘Raps’ all about how cool engineering is. Well done everyone, we’re all looking forward to Engineers Week 2020 already!

Watch out for our future Engineers from Killinarden…..they’re a very talented bunch!
