HSCL Christmas News

We have been very busy here in Sacred Heart SNS in the run up to Christmas. Firstly, I would like to thank the children for their kind donations to the ‘Tallaght Adventure World Christmas Dinner’. We were thrilled with the kindness the children showed at this special time of year. It is unfortunately a very hard time for some. Your kind donations will go a long way to making people happy. Giving is a very important lesson to learn in life.
Thank you again for being so thoughtful.

In other news we have been busy bees crafting in the parent’s room. We have made Christmas tree decorations, a wreath and a swag for our front door and a Christmas flower arrangement. It has been fantastic learning new ways of doing things over a cup of tea and a biscuit. It’s a great way to chat with others and relax while learning new things too. We will have more crafting at Easter so let me know if you’re interested.

The children and parents in third class had a great morning on the 6th December. We had a morning of Christmas Hat designing. Lots of parents came in to help out with our Literacy/Art lesson. The children all took part in decorating Christmas hats with all sorts of art materials and afterwards were given a worksheet to make up their own acrostic poems on ‘Santa’. Everyone had a great time and the children were very proud of the end products. Thank you to all the parents, staff and children for making this Christmas activity such a great success.

I would also like to say well done and thank to the children for being in food donations throughout the month of December. We have made these donations into beautiful hampers and we raffled them off on Tuesday. There way great excitement in the hall as children listened to the numbers and names being called out. It’s a lovely way to lead up to the Christmas holidays.
On that note I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the support you have shown throughout the school year so far and to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas.
