Health and Well Being Week 2014

Some 6th class children represented the school today at the launch of ‘Health and Well Being Week’. This week has been organised by South Dublin County Council and during the week there are lots of activities going on to promote both physical and mental wellbeing. The children along with Ms McCarthy and Ms Purcell took part in different sports at the Tallaght Stadium. At school during the week, the children will be taking part in the ‘Busy Breaks’ programme.
The week is a great opportunity for young and old to participate in a range of activities and events which encourage Health and Well Being. Some of the events will include:

Libraries to host a range of talks on all aspects of Health and Wellbeing
Annual Tallaght Health Fair, Killinarden Community Centre
Disability Activity Programme
Healthy Eating and Nutrition Talks
Health Literacy Workshop
Eat Yourself Well
Healthy Food Made Easy
Open Days in Community Gardens
Exhibition on Culture
Food and Activities
Mental Health Talks
Advice including Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health Older Age
